Alison Green-Doran

Alison Green-Doran is a veteran winemaker with more than 40 years of experience. She was among the first woman winemakers in California, graduating from UC-Davis in 1976. See more on Alison’s winemaking journey under the tab “Winemaker”.

Clay Green

Clay Green’s early days in Palos Verdes included doing tractor work for the neighbors when he was seven years old, a pre-cursor of things to come. He moved to Healdsburg as a 13 year-old, where he was immersed immediately in the business of grape growing. He owns a heavy equipment business in Healdsburg, and is our vineyard sculptor and grape grower. He has shaped the vineyards and planted all of the acreage of Cabernet Sauvignon that we use for our own Hoot Owl Creek Vineyards brand.

Mark Doran

Mark grew up in Greenwich, Connecticut. He and Alison met when they worked together at Firestone Winery in the Santa Ynez Valley. They married in 1994 and have two boys. Their older son, Matt, attended UC Merced and graduated in December 2018. Younger son Patrick is currently (2020-2021 school year) a senior at UC Merced as well.  Mark takes care of the sales and marketing for the Hoot Owl Creek Vineyards brand.
